| Also known as Excelsa, or Red Seven Sisters, this rose was quite a sensation when introduced as an improvement over the red Crimson Rambler because of its resistance to mildew. Still a fine rose, Red Dorothy Perkins blooms in late spring, covering itself with huge clusters of roses, starting red, then fading to bright pink and finally a softer pink. The overall effect is impressive and delightful. Zones 5-9. |
