Rambling Roses
Ramblers, or 'rampant' climbing roses, produce long arching canes that can be trained onto walls, fences, and arbors, and up into trees. Generally spring-bloomers of considerable size, ramblers were developed mainly about 1900-1920, with parent roses of Rosa multiflora, Rosa sempervirens, Rose wichurana, and others. Many are also distinguished from other climbing roses by their tendency to bloom in clusters of small flowers. Zones vary. |
