Modern Miniature roses originated from a rose named Rouletti that was found in Switzerland in the 1920's. Miniature roses are not only small in size, ranging from 8 inches for micro-miniature roses to 1 - 3 feet for most miniature rose, to 6-8 feet for climbing miniatres, but all have flowers and foliage in proportion to that of larger roses. Most have only mild, if any, fragrance, but it is practically impossible to bend over and smell them with any grace anyway. They make nice additions to garden beds and delightful little posies. |
