Floribunda Roses
Crosses between the cluster-flowering polyantha roses and the large-flowered hybrid tea roses resulted in the hardy floriferous floribunda roses. Like the hybrid tea roses, floribunda roses can be found in every color of the rainbow, except blue of course, and they range from very disease-resistant to disease-prone. They are shrubby and usually between 3 and 5 ft. tall with a more open growth habit than polyantha roses. The picture to the right is of the floribunda Gruss an Aachen. In the 1950's, the first rose in the class of Grandiflora roses was introduced - Queen Elizabeth. Grandiflora roses bloom both in singles and clusters and tend to be quite tall - over 5 ft. |
