China Roses
Many old and modern roses inherited their ability to repeat bloom from the China roses, which flower continously all season. China roses tend to be small (under 3-4 ft.), somewhat twiggy, with narrow green leaves and 1-2 inch flowers that have delightful sweet scents. Most have flowers that are red or pink and darken with age. Only a very few have white flowers, such as the lovely rose Ducher. China roses are hardy in Zones 7 and higher, but are compact enough to grow in pots and wintered indoors in cooler climates. They rarely suffer from disease and remain nicely foliated throughout the growing season. Zones 7-10 |
